Edo

This place is actually a ramen place but I felt peckish so I got a couple of appetizers and dessert instead! The spicy tuna taco was good and having the rice on the bottom mellowed out the spicy. The pork buns was juicy and had a lovely contrast in texture between the crunchy cucumber and melt in your mouth pork. As for the taiyaki dessert, it was *okay*. I liked it simply because it reminds me of my childhood. The green tea ice cream wasn’t too sweet which was a great compliment of the red bean cream inside the pastry.

$8.99 for a heaping of chicken, a bowl of rice, some cucumbers, daikon soup and one canned drink is a bargain. I passed by Eim Elmhurst this weekend on my way to get a haircut in Elmhurst. Due to the derailment of the F train, I had to take a 7 and walk about a mile to the salon. Since it was such a nice day, it gave me a chance to check out a bunch of the stores on the way there! The chicken was moist and great with the mild spicy sauce. The ginger rice and gizzards were a bonus addition to the dish. I would definitely come by again for Hainanese chicken the next time I am in the area.
