I was using a recipe which needed 1/3 cup of yogurt and even after spending 90 dollars at the grocery store, I had no yogurt. So what do I do? I use the good ‘ol internet to find a yogurt substitute. It turns out people usually is searching for the other way around, such as what can be substituted with yogurt! Crazy world.

Anyways, About.com had a page about buttermilk substitutions. Now I figure that 1 cup of buttermilk = 1 cup of yogurt works the same way as 1 cup of yogurt = 1 cup of buttermilk. If A = B, then B = A! I’m sure there’s plenty of math geniuses who disagree. hehe.

So that’s the point of my post. 1 cup (or any amount) of buttermilk = 1 cup (any amount) of yogurt. I made these awesome cookies (which I’ll post later) with buttermilk instead of yogurt. It worked perfectly!
